Most news networks these days use biased reports to entertain a certain audience. Often, different news stations will show the same reports but with a different bias “twist”. For example, a report on the solider Bowe Burgdahl was showed by CNN and Fox new. Bowe Burgdahl is a solider that left his post and got captured by Taliban soldiers. When he was captured, 6 soldiers were killed, and the united states had to trade 5 Taliban leaders to the Taliban to get Burgdahl back. Between the two reports about Burgdahl the Fox News report is more bias because of the treatment of guest, media, and quotes.
The Fox news uses the technique of treatment of guest was more bias than the CNN news when talking about Burgdahl to the speakers. For example, when Kelly the reporter was talking to Burgdahl’s lawyer about getting the Taliban leaders out was a …show more content…
The lawyer was talking about the reports of online history and how the us is tracking the history. While she is speaking Kelly decides to start talking loudly while Burgdahl’s lawyer is still talking. This shows that Fox news didn’t like what Burgdahls lawyer was saying or disagreed with it and needed to stop what she was saying by interrupting her. Not only was it interrupting the network definitely didn’t like what Burgdahls lawyer was saying because as she was cut off by Kelly; Kelly was talking so loud that the audience couldn’t hear Burgdahl’s Lawyer. Another way that Fox news treats their guest in this report is by asking leading questions towards Burgdahl’s lawyer. These leading questions are seen when Kelly starts a question with, “do you think”. This is seen a lot throughout the report and is basically asking an opinion. Although an opinion may be some source of information it is almost always not right and just a belief. The news network asks these leading questions to let the audience hear
