Bottlenose Dolphin Research Paper

The common bottlenose dolphin is one of the most well-known marine mammals worldwide. Kids love them, parents are intrigued by their intelligence, and people of all ages can agree that the bottlenose dolphin is one of the most likable mammals. The common bottlenose, or Tursiops truncates, have a lot more to them than just their ability to win people over with their tricks. These mammals are one of the most intelligent aquatic animals, and because of this they have been taught tricks and to perform. This has worked against the sea creature, however. Their role in the entertainment industry has benefited human kind, yet most people haven’t realized the damage they are doing to the species. I hope to inform one of the beauty and grace of the common bottlenose, and hopefully more action will be taken to protect such a species. The common bottlenose is most commonly found in warm waters, and the range can extend from latitudes 45°N and 45°S. This mammal is found off the coasts of whatever continent in the previously mentioned range, however they do tend to migrate into bays, river mouths, and estuaries. There are many places to go and see dolphins, especially in Florida. Whether it be people going out to sea to observe dolphins in their natural habitat, or taking along their kids to see dolphins perform shows in amusement parks, both options brings thousands of tourists in. There is a destination in Scotland that millions of people each year go to just to experience their oceanic wildlife. The tourists alone have brought in at least 4 million pounds to the Scottish economy. Over 200 jobs have been created in the tourism sector of this country as well.
