In my case it is more common with my oven. In-fact there has been many times that I went to class and wondered if I shut off my oven. This method was founded by Schneider and Shiffrin and done so with the process of dividing the attention of participants to deal with all of the target and test items simultaneously (Controlled and Automatic Processing, n.d.). This process was very worrisome and there was not much to overcome. Consequently, I had to turn around and check my oven to ensure the safety of my puppies. Arriving back home I found that I had indeed turned off my oven and everyone was safe. Although, I did end up being late to class because of my lack of belief, but I did not know that there was a reason to my uncertainties. The automatic processing method told me that I was experiencing something normal and similar to short-term memory loss. This form of processing deals with the subconscious and after some practice will become something of ease. An example that could be given is learning to drive
