If a survey were to be conducted asking whether bottled water or tap water were most convenient, the majority of people are more than likely to say that bottled water is. Bottled water is seen to be the more convenient option by society, because it does appear that way. If someone were in a hurry can simply grab a bottle of water before they walked out the door, and they can even refill it throughout the day. The majority of fast food restaurants offer bottled water as an option because it is more convenient, and the majority of people will even say that they think that bottled water tastes better than the water out of the tap. All of these things appear to make it clear that bottled water is without a doubt the better option. However, the bottled water industry is a multibillion dollar industry that many americans continue to pour their money into. According to Business Insider “ at an average cost of $1.22 per gallon, consumers are spending 300 times the cost of tap water to drink bottled water.” Not only does bottled water cost significantly more than tap water, but it can be negatively effect our health as well. Although bottled water seems like the better option, it is the real inconvenience when compared to tap water. Most people prefer bottled water over tap water for many reasons, they say that it is more convenient, and a lot of people claim that bottled water tastes better than tap water does.
