Persuasive Essay On Water Bottled Water

The ever popular water bottle barely existed half a century ago in the United States. Although there were high end imports that people could buy, they were more of a fashion statement rather than the necessity as we see it today. Most Americans saw and used water from the tap on a daily basis because it was all they had ever known, until the simple water bottle boomed into an everyday resource. Starting with huge sales in the 1990’s, the water bottle industry, worth over $22 Billion dollars, has grown by over 5% every calendar year. This enormous growth that touches every corner of our society has many benefits, such as readily available water on the go, easy storage capabilities, safe drinking water, and the list goes on and on from there. These type of bans will not improve water conservation practices and they definitely will not increase the amount of plastic bottles that end up in landfills. These bans will only succeed in removing a major source of business and one of the only healthy options to consumers on the go. When we remove bottled water from stores people will then turn to unhealthy options that cost more and require more plastic to produce. Bottled water is a good and healthy choice for our economy because it provides a safe backup when tap water is not accessible or undrinkable. It also allows for consumers to have the freedom of water on the go and is one of the largest producing industries in the United States.
