Motivation and Emotion Motivation is classified as anything that initiates, sustains and directs behavior. Motivation is the reason we do the things we do. Psychologist divided the term of motivation in 3 parts. These were activation, persistence and intensity. In the activation phase you research how to reach your goal. In the persistence phase it’s when you put your plan into action and start putting all your efforts into it. In the intensity phase is the energy you put into the plan. Do you get distracted easily or do you keep your focus at all time? Why are people motivated the way that they are? Emotion is classified as what you are feeling. Emotion usually influences your motivation. Not only that it can affect cognitive processes and your physiology in a variety of ways. Emotions can cause a person to do things that will hurt them. Depending on the emotion, a person does actions because of that. If they are sad they might hurt themselves and ask for attention while if they are happy they might be nicer to everyone around them. If they are depressed their emotions might make them want to hurt themselves. They might want to hurt others or themselves. If something is wrong, then the human body will react to one’s emotion weather it’s by high blood pressure or stomach pain. The smallest thing as even a five-minute anger moment can damage the immune system for 6 hours This causes stress which further harms the human body and even shortens one’s lifespan. Stress is a common thing now a ’days. Everyone experiences weather it’s high school students, or working parents. Think about it, your school paper is due in a few hours and you don’t know if you are going to be able to turn it in in time. Your hearth starts beating faster and your breath quickens while your muscles are ready for action. Although this might sound harmless over time if someone is experiencing stress then it can damage the human body. When you have a big presentation for school has your stomach ever hurt before. If so that’s because the stress in your body taking effect. Stress is the reaction to fear or danger and it causes a flight or fight response. If too much stress is felt, then it can affect most of the human system. It can make the organs not work properly and shorten life span.
