Charles Pinckney began his career as a federalist. Soon after that he left to join the Jefferson Republican Party in 1791(U.S. Governor, Diplomat, U.S. Representative, Writer (1757–1824). Pinckney then wanted to run for senate. In 1798 Pinckney was elected the senate of the United States of America. He stayed the u.s senate for a good three years or so.
