Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States. The hospital offers services to children from the ages of birth to 21 years of age. Each year the Boston Children’s Hospital records roughly 25,000 inpatient admissions and their specialization program annually schedule 557,000 visits. They are one of the granted leaders in the LGBTQ Healthcare Equality in the nation. The Boston Children’s Hospital is a very well accredited organization as listed above. In addition, The Boston Children’s Hospital also stands out from other pediatric centers by using innovated technics and technology. One technic used is the bridge-enhanced ACL repair. This repair is a less aggressive way to treat ACL tears to reduce the risk of later obtaining arthritis. Further innovations include a 3-D printer and an E-4 seizure-detection wristwatch. The weakness of the organization is it only treats patient up to the age of 21. Though it is a pediatric center, larger revenue and patient numbers might be seen if services were offered to all ages. One other weakness for the Boston Children’s Hospital is that most health insurance providers require an initial physician’s referral to visit a specialist and be covered for cost by health insurance, and the hospital is very well known for its specialists. The hospital also does not accept a few health insurance plans such as the City of Worcester Advantage direct plan, Humana HMO, NHP Masshealth, Tufts spirit plans, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid
