This led to the Bosnian Genocide because Milosevic was angered by the nations trying to break away and he wanted revenge, so he decided to slaughter the people in Bosnia. On the other hand, the rest of the nations that broke apart from Yugoslavia felt that if they were independent, then it would be better because of all of the tension already in the nation. Religious tensions were also another major factor of the war and genocide. The Serbian people were mostly populated by Orthodox Christians while the Bosnian country was mostly part of the Islamic religion. Milosevic strongly disliked the Bosnian Muslim population and supported Bosnian-Serbs who attacked the Muslim dominated cities.
