Can someone really "die of boredom"? The phrase is so commonly used, but could it be true? Many sources say boredom is good for people but, research shows that yes, a person can die of boredom. So is said, those who complain of being bored may be at risk to die young. Those who have been at state of high level tedium are likely, by two and a half times a possibility of dying of boredom as a person is with possibilities of dying of a heart disease or stroke. Boredom is also believed to be a result of being unhappy and practicing unhealthy habits such as drugs, alcohol, also decreasing the persons life span length. Boredom isn't as healthy as they say. If you are easily bored, you are at a greater contingency of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and many other leads. Being bored, preceding addictions and unhealthy habits, puts a life at great risk. The study shows that if a person complain of being bored, they likely to take up on one of the abundant assuetudes or addictions, leading the man to die at a younger age. Leading to depression, a person is at a high possibility of early death. An example of a boredom-caused addiction is smoking. Smoking, alone, is its own death lead. It is a common cause of lung cancer, and of course, cancer is deadly. Also a persons boredom addictions could be causing others …show more content…
In August 2013, 3 teenage boys, 15 year old, a 16 year old, and a 17 year old, were so bored they killed Australian baseball player Christopher Lane, age of 22. Officers were told by the 17 year old they killed Lane for no other reason than for the fun of it to cure their boredom. Now the teens face a life sentence in prison over something simply explained as nothing other than they had nothing better to do. Boredom, obviously, isn't something people should be encouraged to practice. Today, the teens suffer many consequences because they couldn't find a better way to occupy
