Personally, I do not have much experience with Borderline Personality Disorder, other than what I had heard and read about it in my Principles of Psychology class. So reading this, was an interesting insight into the disorder. I have never met anyone with the disorder so this was a good way to see the disorder through the eyes of someone that has it. For me, the thing that I found most interesting about what Susanna Kaysen had to say about Borderline Personality Disorder was, “This clarity made me able to behave normally, which posed some interesting questions. Was everybody seeing this stuff and acting as though they weren’t? Was insanity just a matter of dropping the act? If some people didn’t see these things, what was the matter with them?”
