People with disorders can have a huge impact on lives of the people around them. One disorder that can make a big impact is borderline disorder. This disorder can cause intense mood swings, impulsive behaviors, and severe problems with self-worth. This disorder was very apparent in the movie. One mood swing in this movie was when they were swimming. After Joan had beat her Christina was not happy and talked back to her mom. Joan not liking this slapped her and sent her to her room. Another time she felt like her life was going nowhere after she was fired from her acting job. She reacted to this by tearing plants out of the ground at 2 a.m. One more example of this would be when she had an impulsive behavior to yell at her daughter for using …show more content…
Each character in this movie suffered from having to deal with Joan Crawford. Many time throughout the movie she would let her emotions get the best of her and she would go on an outrage. One character that was a result of this rage was Christina Crawford, her daughter. Many times throughout the movie she would take out her emotions on her. Such as the wire hanger, the picking of flowers at midnight, and the swimming pool. Each time Christina was doing nothing wrong. Another character that had to deal with this rage but not as much was Christopher Crawford. Most of the time he would be the witness and not be getting the punishment. He was punished though a couple of times throughout the movie even though he had done nothing wrong. Another person that watched Joan’s borderline disorder get the best of her was the maid. Many times she would just sit and watch knowing that she could not change what was going to happen and also in fear of losing her job. The last character that really witnessed this disorder was the husband. He realized she had to have everything the way she wanted it and it had to be perfect. If something was wrong she made sure to have it
