Border Wall Research Paper

Border Walls would not be an improvement for our government. In our world’s history walls have been built for many reasons. In China the Great Wall of China was built to keep people out, and millions of people were put through labor that killed many during the process of building the wall. Many countries build walls around their country or cities in order to keep people out or to keep people in, it relates to jails. It gives the feeling that they are discluding everyone and everything outside of their walls. The Berlin Wall caused a lot of people to illegally cross the border and the wall also cause hatred toward each side which was not good for the economy. The definition of a wall is, “A continuous vertical brick or stone structure that encloses or divides an area of land.” This means that a walls purpose is to separate and enclose things. Each country has a national image that everyone sees them as. Building a wall would basically say that, our county is purposely dividing itself from a certain area because we don’t want to be a part of their people. It would show that we do not have the same standards, even though, we are humans who have the same needs. Building a wall shows opposition to another country causing hatred, envy and even war. In many times in past history there have been times when walls created wars and many people would die. A section from a passage written by Alcibiades states, “The wall on the border is to give the impression that we do not want to have illegal immigration, the National Image may be a bit more negative. Again, the northern border would be called into question with the only solution being to build a wall there as well.
