How many of us have ever just back down when we meet challenges? Where people did not even try putting in the effort of resolving the problem or pick up all the pieces of where we fall from and the difficulties to get back up. Have you complain about decision-making needed every morning? Both stories I have read are going to make a value to our life and the understandings of certain choices are very crucial in our life.
In the story, Border Town and To Live both book talks about a personal recount of a specific life of a male and a female. Potentially, both character taught us readers about the importance of decision-making, the affections towards our love ones, and finally the idea of a better standard of live. To live is the tumultuous tale of Xu fugui’s severely chaotic peasant life in the midst of historical events such as China’s Civil War, the Great Leap Forwards, and the Cultural Revolution. Soon after Fugui also loses his wife to disease. Xu Fugui had it easy when he was younger and because of his mistake towards the addiction of gambling had allow him to understand the consequences he would have to face, yet the reality hits him harder when he lost his son because of his one decision. Step by step, he realizes what he should do and how it supposes to be handle. He was kindhearted, however the one mistake was being stubborn, as the “father” of his family, which makes him a superior in the past that his words are more important than the others. One example was where he lost everything by gambling but he remorse from his mistake. Some mistake can be remorseful but the past events cannot be changed. Yu Hua’s main motivation is to create an efficient collage that depicts the relecant era dominated by such traumatic memories and collective experiences
