The first trip of yours is the next day. You suffer in the blazing desert heats but all you can think about is the money. When you attempt to cross the border, Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE, is on you. They guide you back to Mexico. As you walk back to reality you just pray that tomorrow you will make it. As recent as 2015, 11 million aliens from around the globe were unidentified in the United States. The republican party debates that enhanced border security is overall not working and we need to take more action. On the other side of the debate, critics argue we should just give up because we are wasting taxpayers money by paying for state of the art technology that is not working. The biggest issue for people from different countries is that the wages here in the United States are simply hard to beat, so as the wages increase so do the migrants. They want to earn the type of money we do here fast so they do everything they can to get here quickly. The Obama administration states that they have invested in more heavily type of enforcements than ever before. Several studies regarding this have proven that the federal response has kept out thousands of illegal immigrants, bringing the migration to a standstill. This is all because 21,000 Customs and Border Protection Officers risk their lives everyday just to make our citizens safe. President Obama agrees that safeguards should be established to help employers identify undocumented workers. The National Association of Retired Border Patrol Officials has opposed, now allowing illegal immigrants to become legal residents. They state it rewards lawbreakers, but still many retired agents agree that the number of illegal migrants has fallen dramatically. As of now several CBP officers have stated “we have never seen the level of border control that we have now” The number of illegal migrants have fallen dramatically showing that by simply making sure all officers are working as a team, we will continue to see these numbers
