Tensions over border issues have only increased after WW2. And just a few days ago, on June 24, 1948, Russian dictator Joseph Stalin set up a blockade right on the center of Berlin, cutting off the escape route for the people fleeing towards the area controlled by the U.S.
As a leader, Stalin is a very selfish man. He wanted to expand his empire, and he will stop at nothing to accomplish it. He knew his former allies wouldn’t want to start a another war, and he used that advantage. Stalin decides to build a physical border to control who gets in and who gets out.
