The body of a male Booted Racket-Tail is green. They also have two long, shiny blue tails that spin to make the bird go faster. They are called “rackets”. There are fluffy white feathers around the Booted Racket-Tail’s legs. These are called “leg puffs” and they can’t always be seen. The “leg puffs” look like boots which is where it gets its name. Instead of being all green, females are white on the bottom and green on the top. They also have green speckles on the bottom, but the tail is much shorter than the male’s. They also spend time in trees and they are active at night and sleep during the day which makes them nocturnal.
