Boone High Character Analysis

It is not the singular grand achievement that a person should be judged upon; rather, it’s the collection of smaller triumphs that should determine one’s character. Therefore, it makes sense that my biggest obstacles manifest in my day-to-day life; for instance, my character had been truly tested in Boone High’s spring play production--the lead-up to the premier had been scared by setbacks, marred by the lack of memorization, and saturated by stress.
First and foremost, theatre is more than just an extracurricular activity or resume fluff because it has taught me several lessons; and, in hindsight, theater has exposed some character flaws, as well. For example, my abilities as an actor outshine my poor time management skills--attributed to the fact I have a severely busy schedule. Nevertheless, I still learned my lines and performed one of our most memorable and beloved shows.
However, behind-the-scenes there was even more drama. There are many working parts to a production, and I like to stick my nose into a minimum of two areas--acting and publicizing--that contribute to my overflowing workload. My perfectionist’s ideology trickles into the arena of others--wearing me out with insurmountable stress--call it my first challenge. While I want to hold to my perfectionist

#weekbeforetechchallenges.” This childishness ignited an intrinsic fuel source to overcome my second challenge--doubt. More so, when the foundation of your theatre troupe’s confidences are quavering, this statement only recoiled my spring. I was ready to work, disprove, and overcome. No matter how small or how big the challenges may be--if you transpose those trials into triumphs, your challenges will be one's you’ll learn to

In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Sheriff Heck Tate is being used by Harper Lee as a proxy demonstrating the changing attitudes of Maycomb towards its disadvantaged members. Sheriff Heck Tate would have been elected into his position, which shows that he is aligned with their values. During the trial against Tom Robinson, many of the community members openly express their hate for Tom. Before the trial, they even go as far as trying to lynch Atticus, just for trying to defend him. Heck Tate shows that he (a representative of the community) has changed by not prosecuting Boo Radley for the murder of Bob Ewell.…

My flexibility and open-mindedness are major assets to me in the creative process. I am willing to explore wide and opposing ideas on many topics, and do not fear controversial or touchy discussion. I strive to create theatre without preconceived notions about the finished product, and am willing to see how the creative process guides our devised piece. I also do not fear taking a directorial role in a creative piece. Though a thorough and unstructured exploration of a topic is necessary in devising theatre, I know that the piece will have to take structure and hold to a vision as it moves from exploration to performance.…

Writing in Theater For people who have only been witnesses to the art of theater, many do not see all of the time and work that goes into a single production. To start, there’s the actual script writing. Then there’s getting the script published, getting a company to pay for the show, auditioning for the characters, casting the show, memorizing lines, writing blocking, writing set ideas, building the set, starting production, and so much more! So much time and effort goes into it, but it’s a beautiful pain to endure, and that’s why I love theater so much.…

If all the world is a stage, then there are a lucky few that have a corner on the market: Their home, their world has always been the stage. And for those pursuing a degree from The University of Alabama’s Department of Theatre and Dance, their home, their stage does if fact span all the world—to performances of Hamilton and Kinky Boots and standing ovations at productions in Scotland and Ecuador. “We have been on a great run these past few years,” Bill Teague, professor and chair of UA’s Theatre and Dance Department, said. “Our students really have major accomplishments in the entertainment business, and it’s those accomplishments that we’re so proud of.”…

Today I had lunch with a girlfriend and asked her the, "What would you do?" question. Once again I received the reply, "I don't know. " So far I have asked a total of six people in the past two days and they have all given me the same reply. This just baffles me. I sent my friends, with whom we met up in Paso Robles, an email telling them that I was not letting them off the hook and that I wanted them to really think about an answer.…

Monologues are such an important aspect to acting and I am pleased that our Introduction to Acting class was given the opportunity to explore monologues and other basic aspects of acting. Given that I would have loved to have more time during our individual rehearsals to have my performance critiqued, I enjoyed the process we underwent to explore our monologues. I personally enjoyed choosing something that I had never done before and that forced me to read one of my new favorite dramatic works. Overall this experience was enhanced by the chance to see others grow and improve their performances throughout rehearsals and practice. While my fellow actors were performing I did notice I common theme of things that caught my attention.…

The heat from the stage lights, the watchful gazes of the audience, and the sweat dripping off of our faces as we struggle to remember our lines, these sensations of being on stage are what caused the performing arts to become not only an activity, but also a passion and an unexpected source of personal growth. Through my experiences in drama and music I have been able to discover my own meaning of fulfillment and define who the person behind my appearance truly is. My passion in the performing arts started when I was a young child first learning to play the violin. Picking up the violin at the age of 6, I became stuck on one of the most basic songs for almost a whole year. At that time no one believed that I could play the violin, my teacher thought that I was too hyperactive and even my mom attempted to convince me to quit.…

In the 4000 Miles scene, I successfully adapted some of these aspects, but lost others. In the beginning of the performance, I embraced my character better than I had in practice; I was confident and assertive like Bec. However, towards the middle of the scene, I didn't continue to connect and trust my scene partner. Although, I didn't allow my inner critic to intervene, I wasn't completely living in the given circumstances. In the second half of the semester I proved to myself what I am capable of in terms of being flexible in the scene and not allowing my inner-critic to dominate my…
