Joann believes that books and literacy are important in children’s lives. Children who are read to, seem to large vocabularies. “She encourages them to talk, question, and offer their opinions and ideas” (Ayers, 1989 p.74). It is imperative to talk and listen to them with respect, which helps them build confidence. No that it will only help preschoolers build trust, but as well as developing the sense of inner happiness, fairness, and self- respect.
