Young people in the twenty-first century are exposed to much more uncontrolled information than any young people previously. When teenagers read articles about how they should behave, dress, talk in a magazine or see it on TV, they need only a few clicks of the mouse to find detailed information on the matter. Internet has opened unseen horizons for knowledge and information which is easy to access by all users, teenagers included. The notion of media consists of TV, Internet, radio, magazines and newspapers. The power of media is that it reflects values and also creates values. Reality shows are another powerful tool of influence on teenagers. Their format usually uses TV but Internet and Facebook also offer options for teenagers to watch reality programs. MTV's impact on young people is seen not just like a music channel but like a relevant factor in shaping values for teens. "MTV is not a channel. It's a cultural force. People don't watch it, they love it. MTV has affected the way an entire generation thinks, talks, dresses and buys." 1 This is was an ad for MTV television. They are openly talking about manipulating youth, although this ad is from 1993, the same problem stands today. Magazines like Teen People, Teen Cosmo and Teen Vogue in a way impose models to be followed by young people or promote ideas and standards which later will have an influence on young people's behavior.
