Booker T. Washington deserves a national holiday because he was the first African American to have honor of being invited to the white house, he was self-motivated and he founded the school for African American teachers who devoted their lives to teach others. (www.docsouth.unc.edu)
Society is different today because of Washington’s work because he helped in getting equal rights for African Americans. He did this by showing the whites that they to are capable of getting an education and that they to are capable of owning a business or their own land that they could take care of themselves. He also left a lasting impression on the world of education.
People benefit from booker today because they can get an education or they might go to Tuskegee university. Because of him African Americans now have equal rights just as any other American citizen.
Sincerely,
James
