Alice’s dad, who is a college professor, takes an offer to teach at a different college. Alice and her family have to move to a new town at the beginning of the next year. Ted, who is Chris’s boyfriend, takes some of the money the girls make dealing the drugs to help pay for rent and to buy his own drugs. One day, Alice finds Chris, Richie and Ted having sex with each other and they run away to California. Alice eventually finds a cop and turns Richie in and makes a pact with Chris to stay clean.
