At the start the hare shoots off and is in the lead, but the tortoise throughout the whole story says that slow and steady will win the race. In the end the tortoise wins the race because the hare thinks he has won and slows down because he gets too cocky thinking he has already won.

6. Summary of the book: This book is about a little by names Henry Brown. He was born into slavery and when his master died he was sent to work in a factory. While working in the factory he met another slave named Nancy. They end up getting married and they have three kids. One day his wife and kids are sold to another slave owner. Henry gets really upset because they are sold so he comes up with a plan to escape form slavery. So he puts himself into a box and mails himself north. He arrives at the home of an abolitionist where he becomes free.
