Examination of a Protagonist Jaws is a story by a American novelist, Peter Benchley. The story was originally published in 1974 , and also made into a film, Jaws in 1987. The story itself takes place in a small summer town named Amity Island where every businessman has to wait for summer in order to take more money from the tourist. The town’s business and earnings were mostly dependent on summer because of the beach. Moving along, one of the characters from the movie is Larry Vaughan who is the Mayor of the town and also just cares mostly about money and business though was the mayor of the town. In fact as a Mayor of the town he is not worried about the public safety, he is just worried about the summer dollars that the town itself is going to earn during summer by not keeping the beaches closed. When Chief Brody asks to hire Quint, so that they can pay whatever Quint wanted and kill the shark but instead Mayor Vaughan announced a $3,000 award on whoever is going to catch the shark and some fishermans did catch the shark but eventually when Hooper and Brody cuted that shark they were sure that it is nt the shark who is killing/eating all the people and one night when they were on the boat trying to see if they see the shark or not, they were able to see a small boat that looked like it was attacked by shark, and Hooper goes into the water to see the boat he was able to discover the tooth of the Great White Shark. And when they told Mayor about this he was still not ready to believe about the shark and still wanted to keep the beaches open. Mayor doesn’t even allows Chief Brody to hire Quint. And on the 4th of July weekend on T.V. he announced that some fisherman's have catched the shark and now there is nothing to worry
