When I think of nonfiction, I think of school related things. History, science, English, or math are all things that come to mind. I usually wouldn't be interested in things like that, since those are the type of things we read and learn about at school. Nevertheless, I am drawn to biographies, and autobiographies especially. Being as Ronda is such an icon in our culture right now, I was very intrigued by this book. Primarily I would choose a fiction book though. I feel like they have more twists and unexpected events, as well as more meaning and deeper themes. Her story is different from any other person to exist. I haven't read many autobiographies, and certainly none of fighters: particularly women. I guess the closest thing would be (auto)biographies, and obvious ones about athletes. To answer the other part of the question given for this, I can undoubtedly connect this book to my life. Like I kind of started to explain earlier, I can relate in some ways to her. Ronda is just like you and I. She's a normal human being when it comes down to it. I feel for her in a lot of regards. She's an emotional girl. She's goofy and has a good sense of humor. She gets angry and holds grudges. She has poor judgment of boyfriends. She has doubts about herself. She values her family above almost all. She's stubborn and hates to lose. She's everything a lot of young women are. But she's also insanely focused and determined. She sets a goal, an almost unreachable goal. She works harder and harder until she achieves it. She does what's best for herself and career, meaning she makes well thought out smart decisions. The first things I listed, are unquestionably traits I possess. The next things I listed are things I can relate with. I wouldn't go so far as to say I hold those characteristics, but they are constantly in mind and I'm always working to get there. I really believe I connect with her personality, which really makes me look up to her even more
