While Cady was eating her meal at McDonald’s, she wrote the questions she had down on a napkin. Specifically, Cady wrote the lists of questions starting off with “ ‘Who am I?’... ‘Is my name really Katie?’... ‘Am I crazy?’ ‘Was the cabin real?’ ‘Where’s my family?’ ‘Why do people want to kill me?’ and ‘Who pulled out my fingernails?’ ” (Henry 43). While Cady was asleep, the employee, Ty, cleaned up her wrappers and saw the napkin with all of the questions hand written. He knew that something was not right. He woke her up and she asked to go to the bathroom. In the bathroom, Cady uses the toilet, splashes water on her face to wake herself up and applies some ointment and Band-Aids to put on her fingers. While Cady was in the bathroom, a group of three men skulked in through the door asking Ty if he had seen a particular girl. Omnisciently, Ty told the men that he did not see the girl they were talking about and they left back out to the parking lot. Writing these questions on the napkin helped Cady receive help. After all, if Ty did not see the napkin, the men would have found Cady and possibly killed
