The reason that we chose this quote was because we felt that it had a deeper meaning to it. It shows that no matter what you do or say, your heart and brain will always tell you what you believe in. Even if you trick your brain to believe in something else, your heart won’t let you. It doesn’t matter what anyone says because you know deep down what you believe in. Your heart will always be the one to that tell you what you truly believe.
There are many settings in this novel. It starts off in Manchester, New York in the 1980s. There was also a setting of a small town away from New York. When June, Greta, and their mom visit Finn, they go to his apartment building. When Finn dies, the setting takes place at a funeral home.

Upfront, it's a coming of age book of historical fiction looking at the devastation in a girl's heart when her uncle dies from a untreatable disease. However, on a much deeper level, it is about the fragility of our relationships even with those we love the most and the burden of guilt and shame that seems to touch us all. This book showed that that we all negative emotions one way or another and that sometimes, it’s a thing to embrace. The author approached how she wanted express the purpose of her book in a very creative manner.
Although Tell the Wolves I’m Home is aimed towards young adults, we felt that adults could find this a great piece of work because the message is not only applicable to teens. This book is recommended to those who love reading young adults narrating their experiences throughout the book. It is also for people that enjoy novels dealing with character development.
