Cross Fire REVIEW James Patterson’s series called Alex’s Cross, has a 17th book called Cross Fire is about the return of Mastermind and two intertwining murder plots. Finally, after a variety of tough, hard-working trials, Alex seems to be getting a better luck and will soon have a special day ahead of him, but not without worries blooming in his head. He’s about to marry Bree, but before the exceptional day, Kyle is back in time as the Mastermind and hidden as an FBI agent, out for revenge against Alex. Kyle is an extremely troubling criminal of all time for Alex, who is more sly than the fox and could put it right to shame. Though Kyle isn’t the only murderer around, as Alex is called into a sniper case. It appears that there’s more murderers popping up one by one, flatlining and they’re all ready to kill the citizens. The sniper has been shooting known corrupted politicians. News story is going off on this sniper, believing they are vigilant and they need more stories like this to bring in money. Along the way, Alex meets with Siegel, unaware that he’s actually Kyle in top notch disguise, and is instantly annoyed by his false character, not knowing what it truly is. Though Siegel has ulterior motives, planning to kill Alex one …show more content…
I didn’t even read all of the other books so I was confused, but I still enjoyed it to no end. I just loved how it all played it, but I just couldn’t stand the ending. It was a happy ending and no child of Alex’s was lost. Sure, people died, but his kids didn’t die. That would’ve impacted Alex in more ways and still, his kids are safe without harm despite how the ending could’ve turned out. I only read one other book and then again, it was a happy ending in the end. I felt like at least a kid of his, should’ve died since Kyle was holding them hostage. Overall, I liked the genre of the book and if I didn’t like the book, I would’ve just set it down, but I

Although the story didn't involve as much action as an usual murder mystery, the characters were quite adorable, not only because of the fact that they were sheep, but because of their quirky, humorous personalities. The plot did go a little bit slow, and there were interludes between clues, but when the plot developed, it built up suspense and excitement. The main characters were fully developed, and each have their own strengths and weaknesses. There were some parts that gave me a laugh, and I quite enjoyed the simplicity of the novel. I didn't feel like the ending was rushed, unlike other novels where the author seems to just get to the resolution as soon as possible.…

Despite the excellent flow, there were a few flaws that could have been remedied. One of the flaws is the faintly abrupt ending. Regardless of the fact that the ending was engaging, pleasurable, and extremely relevant to the story, the resolution was a mere two chapters, which gave an impression of a slightly hurried ending. The ending, although it was well written, was somewhat diminutive.…

The ending of the book gave great closure ,the protagonist learned how to enjoy life for what it was. Freshman Devi and senior Devi had their last moment to reconnect with each other. Both freshman and senior Devi continued to live life normally since the phone stopped functioning. That part showed the readers how the protagonist was content with the course of her life. The only thing I disliked was how the author repeated the whole plot again but this time with twenty old Devi instead.…
