In the book “September 12th” written by first graders, we see how children go about their day after a horrible event. The plot of the book is basically the effect 9/11 had on people, more specifically children during that time.

The book “September 12th” serves as a beautiful timeline centering on the day of a first grader. Naturally, anyone would think children would put sad illustrations when discussing this tragedy. However, their photos are very abstract. For example, one page in the book says “We said the pledge like always”, and it was followed by students standing for the pledge and smiling. No one looks sad, and the colors are bright. These illustrations cast out a happy and feel good mood among the reader. One thing that remains the same in the book is that the book is all about the first graders and their day. They don’t switch to an adults point of view, they keep the light on the children. Everything from the first graders day is tied up at the end where they mention something that will basically warm the heart of the
