Imagine coming from absolutely nothing having no one to support you or help you through life, living in poverty. The ghettos the poor of the poor. To becoming very wealthy and famous with a little bit of help encouragement support and a lot of dedication and hard work, Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. This is all a true story in the book “I Beat The Odds” or in the movie “The blind side” which is only the tip of the iceberg the story has a lot more to it then that.

The Tuohys brought Michael into there house and made him apart of there family. They gave him everything he needed and then some they set him up with a good education and even enrolled him in sports. The Tuohys did everything in there power to give this boy a chance to become something so he wouldn't end up another statistic. Michael worked really hard throughout his junior and senior year and ended up going to the university of Mississippi for three years and eventually got drafted in the NFL. The baltimore ravens picked Michael Oher for the 23rd pick in round 1 of 2009. He played for the Baltimore Ravens for four year. Then was moved to the Tennessee Titans for one year and has been playing for the north Carolina Panthers for the last 3 years as well. I really love this book because I can relate to this book in some ways not in all but in some, Michael say, “If you make the wrong decision it's never too late to make the right one” (112). That really hit because I was the same way my freshmen year and I made a lot of mistakes that i'm still paying for but slowly working it off and will be until I graduate for something I did nearly three years

In the book, Outliers: The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell, the author is challenging our views of how people become successful. He is saying that to get to where you want to be you can’t rely solely on hard work or determination. It takes much more than that, something that many of us don’t get; opportunities. If you want to be successful, you need a series of opportunities that present themselves to you at the right time, to put you ahead of everyone else. He proves this idea in chapter two by using the rhetorical appeal of logos and ethos.…
