Moses was a picture of Christ. Moses was born to Amram and Jochebed. This was during the period when the people of Israel were enslaved to the Egyptians. Pharaoh had commanded all the Israelites to kill all the male children. But when Moses was born, his parents hid him for three months. Then, it was too difficult to hide him, so his mother made him an ark of bulrushes and put him into the Nile River. Then he was found by Pharaoh’s daughter and she took him in. Moses was brought up as part of the royal family, and educated highly. One day, when Moses saw an Egyptian slave master beating an Israelite. Moses slew the slave master and buried him in the sand. Then the Pharaoh died and God heard the cry of the children of Israel. And while Moses was tending Jethro’s flock, he led the flock to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. Moses was given the ability to turn his rod into a snake. He was also given the ability to put his hand into his bosom and pull it out leprous and put it back in and pull his hand out healthy. So Moses took his family, and returned to Egypt as he was commanded by God.
