In the Book Of Leviticus, it speaks about clean and unclean foods. Clean foods are to be cleansed and signifies the holiness and cleanliness of the priest in the order of worship in the temple. If we are going to understand how our Lord differed from the scribes and the Pharisees, if we are going to understand how Judaism “went to seed” on the area of clean and unclean, we must first understand the backdrop teaching of cleanness and uncleanness as it is introduced in Leviticus chapter 11.
