Book Fair Situation Speech

Decent Essays
Good Morning Mrs. Ruffin-Pittman,

I do not understand why you were so upset this morning when you approached me about the book fair. The way you acted this morning in the front office was very unprofessional and really not appropriate for this type of school setting. My question is why are you so upset because I inquired about the school having a book fair this school year? Book fairs are part of the school's culture, and also part of your evaluation process for School Media Coordinators. I am requesting that we do have a book fair this school year and please send me the dates so that we can prepare events & activities for our parents and community partners around that time.

Please read your Media Coordinator Standards!

Public speaking can be very hard for some people, and it can make a huge first impression. In the book An Essential Guide to Public Speaking by Quentin Schultze it goes deeper than just talking to a regular audience. It talks about being a Christian and handling public speaking. This is a great book to learn about how to be a public speaker and a Christian but not to lose your audience by talking too much about God or not enough. When someone says a free society in public speaking it opens, it appeals to a lot more people.…

By reading chapter 6, the main point to stuck out to me were the three main questions to keep in mind referring to the audience. The first is, "who am I speaking to?" Knowing who your audience is important when working on a speech because you can come up with techniques on how to connect the topic to the audience personally, and know what many be offensive or appropriate. The second question is, "what do I want them to know, believe, or do as a result of my speech? "…

If the Newseum is torn down, the first amendment will not have a place to be celebrated just for itself, so there will be no place to celebrate the first American Constitutional freedom. President Trump is pressuring Congress into passing a bill that will start a project to make room for new monuments. The project will consist of tearing down monuments that the government feels are unnecessary. The project will ruin DC and the American spirit. If the bill does pass, the Newseum should definitely not be torn down since it is a reminder of what America is, it will have horrible economic effects on the country, and tearing it down will diminish the American spirit.…

My position on this topic is that I think the “Cinderella licenses” is a great idea and I am sure that it helps with lowering the amount of accidents. However, it is not always possible to be home by twelve and there should be exceptions to this because time is not always on your side. These exceptions could even be as simple as calling and telling your parents that you are on your way and have a friend with you or an adult to help you stay awake and or watch the road. “The Cinderella license would allow the first-time offender to install an ignition interlock device and continue driving their vehicle to work, doctors appointments, and alcohol treatment programs if they are required to attend one. In order to receive the limited license, the…
