I have a bracelet that I wear everyday that says on it “Dream Again”, which is the motto of a non-profit organization to find a cure for Marfan syndrome. This organization was made by a basketball player I am a fan of, who days before being drafted into the NBA, was diagnosed with this disease. I wear this bracelet because I feel that it gives me inspiration and hope, for when things feel down and when it seems everything that can go wrong, does. Dream Again means to keep your hope, and know that everything is going to work out in the end, even if it seems there is no end to negative things in life. He uses writing as a way to express his gratitude for life, and how he can get through tough times with it. For me, my escape is playing basketball. When I play basketball, I don't hear, think of, or see anything else but the hope and the ball in my hands. It is a great stress reliever, and makes me feel that I can escape reality for awhile, and still be challenging myself to get better with every shot I take. Like Hemingway, I found a liking for something, and used it to my advantage to further better myself, and help me vent. For when things are a struggle, like how Hemingway went through his, we turned to our passion and let it be a

Why Everyone In An American Classroom Should Read the Great Gatsby A extremely common question from high school students is “why should we spend our time reading old books and plays from a stupid list; especially, when there are more important things are going on in life and school? In his speech, “Why our Future depends on libraries, reading, and daydreaming” Neil Gaiman discusses the importance of reading books fostering literacy and imagination, especially for children. Whether it is fiction or non-fiction or any other genre, Gaiman supports people’s freedom of reading whatever they desire. Reading can only be beneficial in the end and people can learn much from books. Gaiman’s reasoning and use of rhetoric allow his argument to be persuasive to the audience he is presenting to. His main purpose is that more people should have a desire to read in this modern world even with the rapid rise of technology, not only to gain knowledge and learn but to allow their imagination to run free and become an intelligent citizen of society.…
