Boo Radley's Monologue

C’mon Heck! Heck, what in the world are you going to do? Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness. Boo killed Bob. He killed ‘em. No, Boo was just helping those kids. How did he know this was going on? Was he watching Jem and Scout? Maybe Boo needs to be in jail. He does have a reputation. No Heck. What are you thinkin’? He saved Jem and Scout. You should be thanking him. Oh, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna do? Heck Tate, this is your job. You are the sheriff of the town. It is your job to arrest people like Boo Radley. Wait a second! No one knows what happened yet. Either you leave it or you arrest him. If you don’t arrest him and people find out, that will not be good. You didn’t have a choice with Tom. You had to arrest him. Do not make the wrong decision like last time. I arrested an innocent man, and he was convicted. He was found guilty of a crime that he did not commit. Boo doesn’t need that kind of attention. He lives in his house and never comes out. He has already been punished enough. I mean he lives in his own jail. Every day is like a punishment. He doesn’t deserve it for helping the kids. I can’t do this. I can’t go through this again. This town would have a riot over something like this. I cannot imagine the types of stories that would go around. The folks in this town would probably ignore the fact that Bob tried to kill two children. Boo will probably have to go to the penitentiary. That is the last thing Mr. Radley would have wanted. The Radley family is so prideful. Oh, but Nathan Radley would never hesitate to send Boo off to make himself look better. He is alway doin’ that. I don’t know who is trying to impress. His dad had been dead for a while
