Later in the scene, Dill, Jem, and Scout start to go to Radley’s place, “Dill and Jem were simply going to peep in the window with the loose shutter to see if they could get a look at Boo Radley” (69). More importantly, Jem lied to Atticus and felt unnecessary to tell him of the place he was going and he didn’t think to himself to do the right thing. Later on in the novel, Jem developed in a more gentleman way and making his own decisions that convert him into being mature. For instance, in chapter fourteen, Scout thought that there was a snake under her bed so Jem goes on and checks, he actually finds Dill under the bed.…
