The bonus marchers were made up of all veterans of World War I. They were demanding for their wages to be paid to them at Washington D.C. They were demanding their wages to be paid because of the loss they suffered in the World War I. The government did not give the veterans their war bonds after the war. In the Bonus March it was African Americans and white people together at the Capitol. The President asked the police to evacuate the World War I veterans out of the Capital. The veterans would not cooperate so they had to call in the Army. When the army came they threw tear gas and burned the camps that were outside the Capital that belonged to the veterans.
