Bonnie Parker Research Paper

Bonnie Parker is my favourite romantic heroine. The reason Bonnie is my favourite heroine is because of how deep and seemingly unbreakable relationship she and Clyde had. Bonnie would do anything for Clyde, she even went to jail when caught after one of their first bank robberies. There was something between them that has been reported over and over as ‘they were head over heels for each other”. Blanche Barrow (married to Buck Barrow; Clyde’s older brother) is quoted as saying “Bonnie once said to me she wishes she and Clyde were as free as me and Buck”. As much as she wanted to be free, she wanted to be free with the love of her life Clyde. The Barrow’s gang spent 25 months on the run driving around 500 to 1,000 miles a day, Driving most of the day and night sleeping in the car for only a few hours a night. Bonnie loved Clyde to death and I admittedly admire that deeply. …show more content…
Well, let's look at the dictionary definition of heroine and not the common knowledge definition. Heroine: a woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. I most certain admire Bonnie for her courage to stick with Clyde through the car thefts, bank robberies, car chases, gun shoot outs, the prison raid where they broke out prisoners. As for outstanding achievements, they may not be considered ‘good’ achievements, but Bonnie has 13 murders and several robberies, and kidnaping linked to her name. Those are defineitly a form of achievements. And finally noble qualities, there’s really not a lot on Bonnie’s personality, but she was married when she met Clyde and even had a tattoo on her thigh which was two hearts, one with her name and the other with her husbands. Her husband was in prison when she met Clyde and she never divorced him because she didn’t think it was fair to divorce a man in prison, although the two never did seen each other
