Almost like a love story, Bonnie and Clyde were the most famous criminal couple of their time. From January 1930 until May 23, 1934 they ran from the law. They robbed, commited burglary, and murdered people in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, and New Mexico. They covered their tracks so well it took years for the police enforcement to catch up to the skilled Barrow gang. Bonnie Elizabeth Parker was born October 1, 1910 in Rowena, Texas. Her father died when she was young and was raised by her mother. She dropped out of school, then married Roy Thornton at age sixteen. Their marriage didn’t last long and Thornton was sent to prison in 1929. She never divorced her husband. Clyde Chestnut Barrow a.k.a. Clyde Champian Barrow, was born March 24, 1909 in Telico, Texas. He grew up in a poor family with many siblings. Barrow dropped out of school and started a lif of crime at a young age. Clyde and his brother Marvin Ivan “Buck” Barrow stole a car one night, then decided to rob a store on Main Street. Buck was arrested and sent away to prison, while Clyde got away.
