BODY1: SOLAR PANELS Bonnaroo’s immense idea that they have tried to execute during the earlier years is to raise money for solar panels to replace all the electricity costs that the lights of stages and other attractions produce. “Running part of Bonnaroo on solar power has long been our goal as it underscores our commitment to the environment,” said Festival Partner Rich Goodstone”. This statement shows that the Bonnaroo Staff has had this thought for a long time and have worked to meet their goal. Right now their current “clean energy…system (produces the) equivalent to 20 percent of the power consumed at Bonnaroo…” this is a big step right off the bat towards their goal. To meet this goal they were able to use the “collected tick sales since 2012” to pay for the bill in “early 2013”. BODY3: BIKE RIDE&CARPOOLING Every city and town across the U.S. are trying to decrease the carbon footprint through carpooling with your neighbors and friends and riding bikes and Bonnaroo are doing the same. “Driving to Bonnaroo is a bit like living a line from an Ani DiFranco song: “…stuck in traffic for over a week with a car full of quintuplets who are all cutting teeth.”” This quote describes the line to get into the festival that is up to 15 miles long at a stand still. Because of this, they have in recent years pushed people to carpool and try to lower the carbon footprint. In order to keep outside and local traffic moving, they posted signs on the side of the highway to tell all Bonnaroo traffic to get on the shoulder and to not cut in line. Something else they have tried to do is “A 60-mile overnight biking event to augment the local green initiative…” over the last couple of
