Boiling Springs Observation Report

Before I first started at North Greenville University, I was a student of the Spartanburg County School District Two community in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. A remote place that did not have much to offer at first glance. This is probably because I am originally from the crowded and industrialized city of Philadelphia. Yet, during the almost decade that I have resided in Boiling Spring, it has become increasingly similar to the hustle and bustle that I left behind. Although Boiling Springs will never truly embody the presence of northern life, the constant construction of new businesses and expanding of frequently traveled roads are beginning to meet my expectations.
Since my graduation a few months ago, the district has already started building a new high school to provide accommodations for the increasing number of students. The Dollar General that I often utilized for quick shopping has relocated to a larger building where they can offer more products and brands. Furthermore, instead of traveling outside the city limits to visit my favorite fast food places, it is now just a short drive away to get to Hwy 9, where many of the new businesses have been built. Because of this, I am finding myself beginning to feel right at home in the south. For me, home is where there is a bit of craziness. Much like what I have been experiencing since my arrival at North Greenville University. I feel most at ease when there are traffic jams, crowds of unmoving people, and areas of loud rackets.
