Homeostasis is the process by which the body is able to maintain itself in a constant state of wellness. In homeostasis, there are ranges in which there is an ideal set point created to show the bodies ideal “normal” value. Homeostasis works to keep variables, like body temperature, in balance. The majority of the body systems are controlled by negative feedback mechanisms. Negative feedback occurs when the body must decrease or completely stop a function. When the body is hungry, our metabolisms slow down in order to save energy. Another example of negative feedback is the regulation of glucose. As glucose increases, muscles, the liver, and other cells are triggered to save any extra glucose by insulin. By removing the glucose out of the blood
