Proper body mechanics is especially important for anybody choosing a career in health care. Nurses should be educated on how to lift patients, move and transfer patients, and maintain proper positioning. Good body mechanics allows caregivers to use their body safely and prevents injury to themselves or the patient. The First Health video went over how to use proper techniques when moving, transferring, lifting, positioning, scooting, and helping a patient to sit or stand and ambulate. The video was very helpful and informative about a topic that all health care providers should know.
