All the ads and everywhere online you’ll see “perfection” when perfection is only a set of standards that change by the decade. Recently though, we have moved on to be more “body positive” and ads have started using models/actresses of different body types. This is seriously great because now, there is more acceptance to those who don’t have said “perfect body,” more people can bask in the amazing feeling of confidence and they don’t have to change themselves to do it. There is one oddity to this: now, everywhere you look, you’ll see the “perfect body” AND body positive ads telling you that the “perfect body” doesn’t exist. Just like the oxymoron of having two of the main problems in the world be hunger and obesity, we can, now, all be conflicted by not caring about the “perfect body” and feeling the need to have it. This goes back to what I started with, “body image” is non-existent. It’s all in our heads. Companies found a way to make us see problems we don’t have and that got society on board to believe in the “perfect body.” Not even the “perfect body” exists. People have made fake photos and videos of Big Foot, which sparked the media and made everyone question if this creature does actually exist. People have used Photoshop to make a fake version of a body and called it perfect, which sparked the media and everyone questioned if it is true. And
