In many instances throughout the short story “Wisdom of the New” readers could imagine Mrs. Spring Fragrance getting involved in the development of the story. For instance, Mrs. Spring Fragrance could be added to the story shortly after Pau Lin and Yen arrive in America. Pau Lin is frightened of her family’s future in this new country and is unsure how to act and respond to situations. If Mrs. Spring Fragrance were to talk to Pau Lin during this time, she would try to make her feel less overwhelmed, but also try to explain the circumstances. Her conversation with Pau Lin would go something like this, “I see that you are very overwhelmed with this new environment which is completely understandable, but remember that your husband had to go through…

What we may enjoy when we are young, we may not love or we simply cannot endure it in our old age. Benedick confesses about the changes in his own attitudes when it comes to love, marriage, and…

When watching “The Breakfast Club,” directed by John Hughes, one character in particle stood out to me: Brian Johnson. Brian was known as “the brain” out of the group of diverse teenagers. Throughout the entire movie, he remained himself and only stepped out of his comfort zone was when he went to smoke weed with John and Claire. He was nerdy, but in a cute way; he was determine because he tried hard to get good grades; he was sure to himself because he never tried to look cool or act like the others in order to get attention; he was a nice guy who was very admirable. Brian Johnson is a very ingenious, uncomfortable person that can catch a viewers attention in seconds; he hooked me right from the beginning.…

Today I am going to talk, in very abridged form, a little bit about my experience of getting to know the amazing person who goes by the name of Cecilia Bernard, and what I have learned about her over the past three years of knowing her, which was both a fortunate and unfortunate event. What I first learned about her is that she was very open and inviting. I found this out on the way to New Orleans.…
