Examples illustrating the strong connection between leadership responsibility and personal cost are not limited to fiction. An archetypal leader whose influence crossed many boundaries was entertainer Frank Sinatra. After developing tremendous popularity as a singer and actor in the first half of the twentieth century, Frank Sinatra exerted influence through his amenable following in the American public. He used this power in constructive ways that extended far beyond the entertainment industry. For example, at the height of his popularity in Las Vegas, during the Civil Rights Movement of the early 1960’s, in an altruistic manner, Sinatra refused to perform at a hotel when he learned his African-American friend and costar, Sammy Davis, Jr., wasn't welcomed to stay as a guest due to discrimination…

My favorite image in the museum of bad arts is the one on the left, which is Bob Marley. He was a well-known Rastafarian movement activist and also a world-renowned Reggae Music legend. In light of his strict vegetarian lifestyle, the artist decided to embed the tail of a small mammal on his dreadlocks to project irony to the music legend vegan lifestyle. This seemed somewhat bizarre to me because looking closely at the image; it had me thinking to myself whether that was a piece of fur that was hanging on the picture by mistake or it just happened to be captured in the photo. I believe this artist could have done a better job by displaying his/her intent more realistically by drawing an abstract painting reflecting Bob Marley and a piece of…
