Bob Herbert describes “The American Dream” to nearly be dead, stating that “there is not much of it that’s left anymore”. Pointing to an economy that isn’t in the best shape, or looking at the poor ranking American schooling ha, or even brining up warfare overseas. He paints a picture that not only the American Dream maybe in shambles but also for the kids that will grow up living that dream will “inherit a very bad deal”. He says that Americans are in denial and that it will take while before we can say that the American Dream is a major thing again. This is what he means when he claims we are “hiding from reality”. Cal Thomas describes “The American Dream” as very much alive and achievable for anyone who sets there mind to achieving it.
