Bob Boudignon Interview Report

For the interview portion of the assignment, I chose to interview Bob Boudignon. He was one of the participants in the Forever Young physical activity class I observed at the Pickering Recreation Center. He is 75 years-old and born in Ontario, Canada. He’s married to Josephine Boudignon (who was also in the Forever Young class) and together they have two children and three grandchildren. Bob was once an Elementary School teacher but, is now retired. They both currently live together in their own home. When asked about his subjective health rating he gave himself a “good”. This rating because he had been active his whole life, and he still plays sports and weight trains. However, in terms of his objective health rating, Bob is taking two prescription medicines. He has also had one surgical procedure (which was having his knee scoped), but he does not have any aliments or chronic diseases. When I asked Bob about his pain, he did tell me that he often experiences a slight amount of pain because of the procedure done to his knee. When asked about his rapport with his doctor, he said it is phenomenal. He feels that his doctor listens to him and caters to his health needs. When asked about stress he says that a lack of social life and being isolated is one of the things he thinks about every single day. Bob says it is extremely difficult for him since him and his wife used to live in Agincourt, where they had a large social outlet, but then they moved to Pickering. When they first moved, the social outlet was still active, but as they have gotten older, he noticed that people their age do not seem to be as interested in making the effort to see each other
