With Sesame Street being one of the first shows of its kind, many television companies wanted to follow its example by creating more shows to provide an educational opportunity for children and their families. As stated in the Tipping Point, another popular children’s show, Blue’s Clues, was inspired by the success of Sesame Street. Both Blue’s Clues and Sesame Street really exemplify how educational television is beneficial to children’s learning. Television shows like these keep being created because of their creative ideas in education our youth. These include using sing-alongs in the episodes for children to learn and retain information in a clever and engaging way and utilizing call and response by asking questions to the viewers in order to enhance their information recall skills (Gladwell 120).
