What types of light can a light sensing BlueBot detect? Lights are used for many everyday tasks, and many days they go unnoticed. There are many types of lights, such as Ultraviolet, Infrared, fluorescent, and LED lights, and they all can do different things. Ultraviolet light can be used as a way to light up certain types of clothing, or it can be used to sterilize food. Infrared light is mainly used as a way to heat up food, or as a shorter wavelength to control household items, such as televisions and DVD players. Fluorescent light is created by an electric current running through types of stable gas, which in turn produces short wave ultraviolet light, or fluorescent light. LED lights are a more focused way of producing light, instead …show more content…
The breadboard has many different types of holes in it, allowing things such as integrated circuits, or resistors to be inserted to help connect the different rows of the board together. Sometimes integrated circuits can be used as a way to hold some of the more fragile, bendable breadboards together, and at other times they are just used to help transfer power to multiple lights at a time. A breadboard requires no computer programming, and none of the connections that are made with a breadboard are permanent, unless the connections are going to be welded together, which is not recommended, because a different type of board can be used to get a better result. The power only comes from the sidelines of the board, which means that multiple connectors must be used to transfer power or power other tools using the board. Breadboards are used for making a prototype of a project, or a way to test something, but in this experiment, the breadboard will be used as our main source of commands for the whole BlueBot to function. The name breadboard comes from how back in the old days, people used to drill nails into the wood that they used to cut bread and other foods. There are three sizes of breadboard, full, half, and mini sized. The BlueBot uses a half sized board, and that is because the breadboard has to be …show more content…
The other two ways heat can be transferred are called convection and conduction. Anything above -286 degrees Celsius gives off some amount of thermal energy, or infrared radiation. Half of the Sun’s energy is given off as infrared, and a good majority of the visible light gets absorbed, and then turned back into infrared radiation. Incandescent bulbs even give off 90% of their energy as IR radiation, and this is also true for toasters and other kitchen appliances. TV remotes use IR waves to send an invisible signal to the television, telling it to change to a certain channel, but these rays can be

Thermal radiation is energy where it transfers by the emission of electromagnetic waves. The waves hold energy away from releasing object. For a normal temperature, the radiation is in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The relationship ,conducting the net radiation from a hot object is called,” Stefan Boltzmann Law. ”In 1879, it empirically obtained by Josef Stefan.…

"Bluebeard" by Charles Perrault, Bluebeard is portrayed as a real life monster. Although this is not inaccurate, there are two sides to every coin. In the movie adaptation - "Barbe Bleu" - Bluebeard is seen in a different light than in the original Bluebeard story. He is more caring, gentle, and sensitive. Although he is a serial killer, he is not the same kind of monster in the film "Barbe Blue" than he was in story "Bluebeard".…

Conversely, the Bluebeard legend (as written by Perrault), hides Bluebeard’s true personality until the end. In the legend, Bluebeard gets described as a wealthy, but ugly man due to his blue beard. He has an eye on two daughters, both of whom reject him for his ugly beard and suspicion behind the disappearances of his past wives. To change this perception, “Blue Beard... took them, with their mother and three or four ladies of their acquaintance, with other young people of the neighborhood, to one of his country houses” (Perrault np).…

Surprisingly the actinic bulbs provide different coloration under the blue light than under the white light (Hayes 24), because the color you see of the fish is greatly impacted by the light used in the aquarium. “Warm” lights enhance the color of red and yellow fish, whereas the “cooler” lights give the fish a much more pale appearance (Hayes 22). The choice between the two main types of lighting and the wattage of the bulb used should be dependent on the size of the tank, and the types of coral they include. For example, fluorescent is really only suitable for tanks up to eighteen inches deep, and metal-halide is essential for deeper reef aquariums.…

This is the type of UV light that has the longest wavelength and is the least harmful to the body. When an object such as a white T-shirt or anything fluorescent is placed under a black light, it glows very brightly. It isn't the object that is glowing, but the phosphors in the object. A phosphor is a substance that when it is exposed to UV radiation, it converts that energy into visible light, thus making the object glow (Harris, n.d.). This is known as fluorescence, which is the emission of light from the excited state of a molecule (Physikalisch-chemisches Praktikum I,…
